My photo
Hi my name is Louise (Lou) and I am a craftaholic. I am in my mid twenties and live in wonderful Scotland. My addictions are jewelry making and cross stitching, I do knit and love to try other things, but these are the two that have stuck. I have been stitching ever since i can remember, but only started stitching properly when i was pregnant with my first daughter. I manage to get my fix in between looking after my two angels and hubby.

Time for jewelry.

Last night I managed to get a chance to play with my jewelry supplies again. I purchased a tutorial which has been raved about on some jewelry forums and gave it a shot. My first attempt was an absolute disaster so I wont post a picture of it, this one though is nearly how I wanted it to look... I have to appologise for the quality of the pictures, my last camera doesnt work any more and I am left with a camera at 2.1 mega pixels, not good for jewelry photography unfortunately...

The braid is called the Tucman braid, the bottom picture shows the clasp which is so simple but looks great (I think you may have to trust me on that one, the picture isn't very good sorry...)
A great wire artist who has made this design her own is a lady called Mei, have a look at what she has done using the same tutorial, if you want to give the tutorial a go for yourself just follow this link.

Hi Lou! Are you on our beadingaholics group? I see you mention Mei! I'm sorry if I forgot your name..there are so many on the group and I"m a little bit extra frazzled these days. Or maybe it's just in my DNA..I don't know lol!

I have seen this pattern done on Meis blog so I can tell what you've got there even with your fuzzy pics. I love it in the gold color! I need to learn more wire wrapping skills..I'm very limited. So good for you for trying out a new pattern!

Thanks for your comment on my blog :)

Very nice (fuzzy LOL) work! I understand about cameras ~ mine is about shot and I desperately need another one. Wonderful work on the x-stitch. I can't do those big projects and really admire those who can persevere. It will be lovely when its done.
